His expert guidance has helped ongoing clients like City of Surrey, City of Richmond, City of Coquitlam, Village of Anmore, Town of Barrhead, Mountain View County, City of Vancouver, and related tourism, arts and cultural agencies. • Where do you see RDC in five years?
Our studio’s growth has allowed us to build greater capacity, and our visibility continues to increase. Our team talks about our studio’s trajectory and how we want to make sure we maintain our personal relationships with our clients. Our new studio is now built in Strathcona, and is scheduled for move-in end of 2024.

    Read any good books lately?
I’ve picked up a copy of Murray Sinclair’s “Who We Are” recently, a story about Murray Sinclair and the story of Canada through his eyes. He asks important questions about our identity, structured around four questions: “Where do I come from, where am I going, why am I here, and who am I?”

What do you like to do outside the office or around the city?
If I’m not on a soccer pitch, then I’m often on my motorcycle exploring new terrain around Metro Vancouver, Squamish or on Salt Spring Island. I find Salt Spring is a great place to hike, kayak, visit art studios, check out vineyards and breweries, or just hang out with family and friends. I’ve picked up riding my bicycle again, recently making a 200 km trip through part of Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island over a three day stint with a group of friends.

Rod’s Next Goal

Returning to my passion for painting and drawing, I’ve started modestly with a series of water colours, but looking to create large scale mixed media paintings. Not surprisingly, they feature typography.
